Chris Columbus, famous for directing the Harry Potter series. Just by looking at the font or maybe the whole production poster most of us is already know that it's Chris Columbus!
Short Synopsis:
The story starts off that 2 guy discussing about the lighting was stolen by one of the demigod that name Percy Jackson (son of the Poseidon, god of the sea) . The climax starts off that Percy bump into a strange creature called Fury and he found out himself was a demigod, he was forced to have his training with the gods, during their way to the training fortress his mom was captured by a minotaur. Soon after his short training he discover his special ability that he could gain power by touching the water. Soon a warning has been made by Hades, as he arise from some random torch and lead Percy to travel with 2 of his friends, Annabath the daughter of Athena and Grover the son of Satyr as before they start their adventure starts Jake the son of Hermes gave them a SHIELD, a pair of FLYING shoe and a MAP to guide them their way to find the pearl as it has the function to escape the underworld. The first pearl they encounter the Medusa who turn people into stone after they look into her eye, the first pearl was found as it was placed on a braclet of the Medusa. The 2nd pearl was located at musium on top of a tiara on Athena head, as there were too many visitor during the daytime so they decided to wait until the sky became dark, during the night they have a fierce battle with an Hydra. The 3rd pearl was found as a ball to gamble inside a casino of Las Vages, they had them self caught in a spell after eating some Lotus Cupcake which would make them trap inside the casino forever. Lastly they went to Hollywood where the underworld was located. They meet up with Hades and they found that out that the Lighting of Zeus was hidden behind the shield that was given by Jake. After Hades defeat, finally they quickly reach at the entrance of Olympus after stepping on the pearl that they've obtain during their journey. Before they got to Olympus Percy fought with Jake and finally they returned the lightning to Zeus. And thats how does the story roughly goes.
Analysis:
- the first scene after the introduction, Percy was diving inside the pool (relate him as the son of Poseidon).
- the medusa lair where the director 1stly feed you some information with the stoned statue and the decoration of the environment before their encounter with the medusa. Grover took some special coins from the lair.
- the medusa design is quite stylish with the sunglasses i like it pretty much myself. Where it combine modern props with ancient monster.
- the musium where 5 of the worker that was working during the night, Combine together to become an Hydra, after they've obtain the 2nd pearl.
- Grover holding the head inside the hotel room and being discovered by a random maid outside the room.
- how Grover defeat the Hydra with the medusa head that they've cut off after obtaining the 1st pearl, hydra turned into stone while it was firing towards Grover leaving the medusa to open its eye and stoned the Hydra.
- the lotus cupcake that they ate, they used lady gaga ''poker face'' as it suit the mood inside the casino.
- they escape the casino with the car that you 1stly saw while the director brings you into the casino, Grover drives fast to get out from Las Vegas and before the scene end there was a signboard writing ''Drive Safely and please come back again''.
- at the underworld they gaved the coins that they've obtain at the medusa lair to the dead man*.
- the props* (valuable accessories such as golden watch and etc) that float around the underworld, describe as the dream that unable to come true during a human lifetime.
- Percy's battle with Jake as he uses the water to surround Jake before he uses the lightning of Zeus to strike Percy (water conducts electricity) Jake shocked himself.
- the elevator that lead Percy to Olympus. the lighting outside the building and the particle effect that was used after the light reach the top of the roof.
- Centaur showing an angry face as he tried to scold Grover but at last he instead of scolding the director make a twist as he said '' that why it make you my favorite student''
*just like what it happened in harry potter and the sorcerer stone, that dumbledore show the angry expression but instead praising Harry and the others*
